A Gift for You

As we wrap up final Christmas gatherings and approach the year 2022. I have a gift for you. I have created some Bible study guides that I’ve used in small group settings. I’ve learned how to make a downloadable file available for those who want it. I’m excited to be able to offer this resource every once in a while.

Today’s FREE Bible study guide is titled Kingdom Prayer. This study delves into the prayers of Jesus and Paul. It can be used in a group setting or as an individual study. You are free to print, make copies, and share if used as it is. The study format is page 1 an outline of scripture references, page 2 introspective questions to spark an examination of your thoughts or feelings, and page 3 space and opportunity for scripture engagement through hand writing a passage.

Tips and Suggestions
• Ask the Lord for wisdom (see James 1:5)
• Take your time don’t rush [marinate in the Word]
• Look up every reference
• Read the context [verses before and after]
• Use a dictionary
• Check commentaries or notes from a study Bible
• If possible, meet with others after individual study
• Apply the truths

Prayer
Father God, thank You for revealing yourself through the Bible. I pray for those who will embark upon this study. Give them wisdom through the Holy Spirit—our helper. Open eyes to new facets of Your nature and character. Convict us of sins to generate a repentant heart.

As people gather, use the discussion to sharpen and encourage one another. Keep us humble, always acting within the same grace You have extended to us. Teach us to live in the finished work of the cross so that the name of Jehovah be magnified. Amen.

  1. What a gift! You have no idea. I am leading a study. I also was going to Israel this January but it was postponed until October 2022. What to do while I am gone? I wanted the group to continue meeting. I will work through this study you have shared praying about if this is what I am to suggest they do while I am gone. Thank you!

  2. Folks, if you’re reading this, then download Manette Kay’s Kingdom Prayer study! I received a hard copy, along with the prayer organizer I won in the last give-away (Yippie!🥳). This is a well written study guide that delves into many of most prominent prayers in the gospels. I especially like the idea of the hand written scripture practice–and I hate the sight of my own handwriting!

Thank you, Manette Kay, for making this freely available to all. I hope it gets downloaded 1000 times!

      1. Glory to God! I’m glad you will be using the study in a small group. The discussion that results is always refreshing, encouraging, or challenging as we hear others share. I will be praying for your group to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord. God bless.

    1. Beth, I hope you and your family have a blessed and fruitful New Year.

Regarding the study, it is God who is generous. What I give or offer is merely passing through my hands from His. By providence may a beautiful chorus of prayer be offered to our King. Revelation 5:8 tells us God saves our prayers as incense in Heaven. I am wowed by that fact. Every plea, communication, utterance, and cry from God’s people is reverently saved. Like a lover preserving [treasuring] each letter and note from their beloved.
