Valuable nuggets are free and available to those who search for them. I’m not talking about precious metals or gemstones but rather priceless principles—Biblical truths to stand on. Of course, the best location to find them is in the Scriptures.
Valuable nuggets can also be gathered from classic Christian literature, devotionals, sermons, podcasts, etc. Recently, I discovered a few that illuminated areas God is working out in me. May the brilliance of these I share add luster to your day giving reason to glorify Almighty God in every circumstance.
“If you want to be of use to God, get rightly related to Jesus Christ and He will make you of use unconsciously every minute you live.” — Oswald Chambers, My Utmost for His Highest
“[P]rayer is much more than asking God for one thing or another. It is partnering with Him by drawing into deep communion with His Spirit, and in that intimate union taking up our special vocation as His people.” — Skye Jethani, What if Jesus was Serious About Prayer?
“The purpose of God is not to answer our prayers, but by our prayers we come to discern the mind of God, and this is revealed in John 17. There is one prayer God must answer, and that is the prayer of Jesus—‘that they all may be one, even as We are One,’ Are we as close to Jesus Christ as that?” — Oswald Chambers, My Utmost for His Highest
“Prayer trains us to see God where we might otherwise miss Him.” — Skye Jethani, What if Jesus was Serious About Prayer?
“The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.” — James brother of Jesus, The Holy Bible, ESV

Thank you for sharing these valuable nuggets Manette. You are right, we always come across such treasures and I always try not to leave it in that moment but remember it either by writing it down so I see it more than just once and it will settle in my heart and therefore not forgotten after a few minutes.

I love this gem of a post Manette! It touches on a theme that I find myself returning to often. It is a theme that also gave me the name of “Devotional Treasures.” I see us very much like miners down a pit, digging every day for treasure. God bless you today sister 🙏

Worthwhile nuggets you choose to share here. I have come to realize that the Bible is like a hologram – any small piece is a picture of the whole!

The great attribute of a gold nugget is its small size. Too many of us hunt for the enormous mineshaft full of veins of promise. The nugget can be spotted in a shady room void of value. Love the idea.

Wow, Alan this sounds like a topic that could become a post on Fuel for the Race.

I put this in a post of mine recently, seems nugget worthy. If I leave everything in God’s hands, I will see God’s hand in everything. “Everything is pure to those whose hearts are pure.” (Titus 1:15a [NLT])
We just have to keep our eyes open!
